Guitar

Dave Ogden

Guitar as the “heartbeat” of the tune. Approaching the guitar through rhythm.

Dave says: “This is a strumming class. We’ll also talk about alternate tunings that lend themselves well to accompanying traditional tunes and songs, such as drop D and DADGAD. All abilities are welcome, but complete beginners will find this challenging.”

Irish Flute and Whistle

Dave Ogden

Beginning Whistle. D penny whistle required (may be purchases for $12 in the camp store). Learn a tune or two and the musical fundamentals of the whistle — the rhythms of jigs, marches, reels, etc.

Intermediate Irish Whistle/Flute. This class assumes you play whistle a bit, and  have a few tunes under your fingers. It will focus on ornamentation, the cuts, taps, rolls, crans and other bits that make flute music what it is. Bring a D whistle or flute.
